All set for a light heavyweight title tussle, Artur Beterbiev tips the scales at the 175-pound mark, primed for his eighth title defense. Callum Smith, not far behind, registers a weight of 174.6 pounds, inching just under the limit.

This bout, a contest for Beterbiev’s trio of titles – the WBC, IBF, and WBA – is slated to unfold at the Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Canada. For those in the United States, catch the live broadcast on ESPN and ESPN+, with the main show rolling out at 10 p.m. ET.

Beterbiev, 38, hails from Khasavyurt, Russia but has set up his training camp in Montreal, a mere three-hour jaunt away. The fight marks his return to the ring after nearly a year’s hiatus, following his triumph over Anthony Yarde in an eight-round affair.

Smith (29-1, 21 KOs) eyes a leap to world champion status in a second weight division, having previously clinched the WBA super middleweight title in 2018. His unblemished record took a hit in 2020 at the hands of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Since that unanimous decision loss, Smith has bounced back with two victories, albeit against relatively lighter competition.

Smith, from Liverpool, United Kingdom, also steps back into the ring after a period of inactivity, last seen in action in August 2022, dispatching Mathieu Bauderlique.

The evening’s co-main event showcases a super middleweight clash between Christian Mbili (25-0, 21 KOs) of  France, and Australia’s Rohan Murdock (27-2, 19 KOs). Mbili and Murdock weighed in at 167.3 and 167.6 pounds respectively, setting the stage for another gripping encounter.
