MIYO YOSHIDA AND SHURRETTA METCALF VIE FOR VACANT IBF INTER-CONTINENTAL BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE ON UNDERCARD – SUNDAY, JANUARY 14 AT 9:00PM EST ON SPORTSNET NEW YORK

This Sunday, at the stroke of 9 p.m. Eastern Time, strap in for a pugilistic homage to valor as DiBella Entertainment rolls out the “Heroes on the Hudson” on SportsNet New York (SNY). This Broadway Boxing Veterans Day special, which first hit the airwaves via DAZN, throws a spotlight on the valiant warriors of the U.S. Armed Forces.

The 120th Broadway Boxing showcase packs a punch with the comeback of ex-WBO champ and proud Marine, Jamel Herring, as he trades blows with the fresh-faced Nick Molina.

On the undercard, IBF Bantamweight World Champion Miyo Yoshida clashed with Shurretta Metcalf in a 10-rounder for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental strap. The up-and-coming heavyweight Roney Hines staked his unbeaten streak against Jonathan Gruber, while super bantamweight Mikiah Kreps, under Jamel Herring’s wing, took on the seasoned Isis Vargas Perez.

The bash also did some good, chipping in a slice of its earnings to Merging Vets and Players and the West Point Society of New York.

Lou DiBella of DiBella Entertainment reminisced, “The last Broadway Boxing bash, ‘Heroes on the Hudson’, wasn’t just a 20th-anniversary fiesta; it was a salute to our veterans. Fresh off DAZN, we’re now jazzed to showcase this lineup to SNY’s crowd.” He lauded Herring’s return to the ring, Yoshida’s title tussle, Kreps’s bout with Vargas Perez, and Hines’s dance—sorry, fight—with Gruber.

Since its 2003 debut, Broadway Boxing has been the ring where legends like Vitali Klitschko, Gennadiy Golovkin, and Amanda Serrano have dazzled the masses.

For those ready to witness the heroics of the squared circle, SNY awaits your viewership this Sunday night. You can find SNY on DirecTV channel 639, Time Warner Cable channel 26, Verizon FiOS channels 577 and 77, Cablevision channels 718 and 60, and Comcast channels 843 and 73, among others.
