Liverpool’s Rising Star Daord Sets Sights on English Super-Flyweight Crown – Dec 2, Winter Gardens, Blackpool

Liverpool’s own boxing sensation, Brandon Daord, is all set to take the ring by storm, aiming for the English Super-Flyweight title. He’s lined up to face Benn Norman for the vacant belt in a headline-grabber on VIP Boxing’s mega event at Winter Gardens, Blackpool, on Saturday, December 2nd.

Daord is leaving no stone unturned, gearing up for the big night. He’s off to Tenerife for a two-week power-packed training camp with none other than IBF World Flyweight champ Sunny Edwards. “Getting sparring in England? Forget about it,” Daord quips. He’s seizing this chance to train with top dogs like Sunny and Charlie Edwards. Daord’s sparring strategy? Only the best to prep for Norman.

The Liverpool southpaw, undefeated in nine bouts, admits it’s tough to find willing sparring partners in England. “Seems like I’m the guy everyone wants to avoid,” Daord says with a wry smile. It’s clear – he’s a force in the Flyweight and Super-Flyweight divisions.

Since joining VIP in 2021, Daord’s been nothing short of impressive. He’s eyeing the Super-Flyweight division, with local hero Marcel Braithwaite in his sights. At 26, Daord’s not just fighting for glory – he’s in it to secure a comfortable life for his family.

Norman, 27, with seven wins in ten, is no pushover. He’s battled through four ten-rounders and believes this experience is his trump card. “Let’s see how Brandon handles a real challenge,” Norman throws down the gauntlet.

Steve Wood, VIP Boxing chief, is betting big on Daord. “He’s World champ material,” Wood says, recalling his success with Terry Flanagan and Josh Warrington. A win against Norman could lead Daord straight to a British title showdown or an eliminator against Braithwaite.

The Blackpool card is a showcase of Britain’s boxing future stars: Jake Abrol, Levi Barnes, Tyrone Bowen Price, Bryan Collins, Jamie Devine, Willie Goldie-Galloway, Jackson Hulme, Brad Rea, Thomas Varey, and Luis Wright.
