Golden Boy Promotions has confirmed a dynamic doubleheader for April 27, promising fans a night filled with exciting battles and significant career implications for the fighters. In a highlighted 10-round lightweight fight, Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte (26-2-1, 21 KOs) will take on U.S. Olympian and former world champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. (33-5-1, 15 KOs).
Coming off a challenging fight against Ryan Garcia last December, Mexico’s Duarte is determined to reassert his presence in the lightweight division. Diaz aims to bounce back from a split decision loss to Jesus Perez in February.
The same night will feature Marlen Esparza (14-1, 1 KO) defending her unified flyweight world titles against Gabriela “La Chucky” Alaniz (14-1, 6 KOs) from Argentina in a 10-round championship fight. This rematch is set against a backdrop of intense rivalry, with Esparza focused on clearing her path to becoming an undisputed champion.
Opening the DAZN broadcast, Raul “El Cugar” Curiel (14-0, 12 KOs) will defend his NABF Welterweight Title against Jorge Marron Jr. (20-4-2, 7 KOs). Curiel is continuing his knockout streak, having last defeated Elias Diaz in January.
On the preliminary card, Jennah “The Gem” Creason will make her professional debut in a four-round welterweight bout. A highly decorated amateur, Creason has trained under notable figures like Robert Garcia and UFC legend Bob Cook.
Also featured in preliminary fights are Brian Lua (8-0, 3 KOs) in a six-round lightweight fight and Figo Gonzalez (5-0, 2 KOs) in a four-round super flyweight bout. Opponents for both fights will be announced shortly.
