Cully vs. Mould: WBA Title Clash in Dublin, November 25

Gary Cully is all set for a dramatic return to Dublin this November, squaring off against Reece Mould for the WBA Continental Europe lightweight title. This time, it’s not just a fight; it’s a personal quest for redemption.

‘The Diva’ (16-1-0, 10 KOs) faced a shocking defeat last May, with Jose Felix turning the tables and handing Cully his first career loss with a striking knockout at the 3Arena, right in front of a hometown crowd.

Yet, with renewed spirit and a thirst for retribution, now under the guidance of Joe McNally in Liverpool, Cully, the hopeful world champion, is geared up to make a comeback. He’s promised to settle scores in his fight against Mould (18-1-0, 6 KOs), set to be a major attraction on the Chantelle Cameron-Katie Taylor undercard this November 25, broadcasted live globally on DAZN.

“This time around, it’s not about the fanfare or festivity,” Cully asserted. “It’s a personal journey to reclaim my spot, and I’m gearing up for an impressive display come November 25.”

A substantial local lineup will support Cully in the jam-packed event in Ireland’s capital.

Undefeated Paddy ‘The Real Deal’ Donovan (11-0, 8 KOs) returns to the 3Arena, ready to take on English Welterweight Champion Danny Ball (13-1-1, 6 KOs) for the WBA Continental Welterweight Title.

Thomas Carty, the unbeaten Dubliner (6-0, 5 KOs), is also joining the excitement, defending his Celtic Heavyweight Championship.

Newly-minted WBC interim World Featherweight Champion Skye Nicolson (8-0) is set to defend her title in a thrilling clash with Lucy Wildheart (10-2, 4 KOs).

Nicolson aims to cap off her fantastic 2023 with a victory, eyeing a major fight with WBC champion Amanda Serrano in the upcoming year.

“I’m thrilled to join such an esteemed event, sharing the stage with Chantelle Cameron and Katie Taylor,” Nicolson remarked. “This fight is going to stir some serious excitement, and I’m ready to demonstrate that I’m the next big name in the Featherweight division.”

Swedish-born Wildheart, now living in Brentwood, Essex, survived a full-length fight with former undisputed Super-Featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer last April. Now, she’s raring to cause a stir in Ireland.

“This is the opportunity I’ve been biding my time for, to vie for the world title in my division,” she expressed gratefully. “A big thanks to Matchroom for this chance to fight amid such legendary women, contributing to this monumental night and the growth of women’s boxing.”

The event will also see the professional debut of London’s promising Lightweight, Giorgio Visioli, a two-time Senior ABA amateur champion, in the Before the Bell fights.

Additionally, Belfast Featherweight John Cooney (8-0, 2 KOs) and Dublin’s Liam Gaynor (10-4-0) are slated for a duel for the Celtic Featherweight title, while Dublin’s Emmet Brennan (1-0) is pitted against Limerick’s Jamie Morrisey (5-0-1, 1 KO) for the Celtic Light-Heavyweight Title.
