Canelo Alvarez: “I’m constantly seeking the most challenging fights out there. The idea of going head-to-head with the Charlos, especially Jermell, has been generating a lot of talk. Finally, Jermell is going to find out what I’m really made of.

“For me, Jermell Charlo is the perfect opponent at this critical moment. He’s been throwing challenges my way for some time, and his remarks have stuck with me. If he doubts my abilities, he’s in for a rude awakening. Both his skepticism and that of his brother give me an extra push for this upcoming fight.

“Regardless of where we train, maximum effort is the standard. While I initially faced challenges adapting to different environments, I’ve now found a comfort zone where I feel both strong and at ease.

“Jermell will certainly hold his own at 168 pounds; I’ve moved between weight classes myself. With a championship mindset like his, the weight division hardly matters.

“Underestimating me only adds fuel to my competitive fire. It’s that extra motivation I use for fight like this.

“I never question my place at the zenith of boxing. Self-assurance is key. While there can be multiple athletes at the peak of the sport, I know I am one of them.

“Every year, I remain focused, energetic, and at my prime. I have no thoughts of hanging up the gloves anytime soon.

“Being a representative of Mexico fills my heart with enormous pride. The sight of the Mexican flags and the resonance of Mexican tunes as I enter the ring is an invigorating experience.

“I can safely say this has been one of my best training camps. With my left hand fully functional again, my confidence has soared. Being in optimal health heightens my anticipation for the upcoming bout.

“The tranquility of Lake Tahoe enhances my concentration. It’s a simple setup—just my team and me—hone in on the fight, sharpening our readiness.”

Eddy Reynoso, Manager and Trainer for Canelo: “This is shaping up to be a agreat bout. Jermell’s a top-contender athlete with a track record to prove it. This is a must-watch fight for all boxing enthusiasts.

“Sometimes a change of venue, like moving our training camp, has its advantages. Though we’ve had a productive run in San Diego for nearly five years, the altitude of Lake Tahoe has offered us some new and beneficial insights.

“As for what’s next, we are solely focused on besting Jermell Charlo on September 30. Only after that will we turn our eyes toward the subsequent challenge.”
