In the main slugfest, the WBC/WBO/IBF light heavyweight champ, Artur Beterbiev, is ready to put his crown and his perfect knockout record on the line. Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs), a Montreal mainstay and the only reigning world champ with a 100% knockout rate, has been defending his throne since snagging the IBF title back in November 2017. His challenger? Callum Smith (29-1, 21 KOs) from Liverpool, England. Smith, a former world champ and WBC’s mandatory challenger, is stepping into the ring fresh off two stoppage wins since his 2020 clash with Canelo Alvarez.
The undercard action, kicking off at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT exclusively on ESPN+, is no less thrilling. Australian sensation Jason “Mayhem” Moloney (26-2, 19 KOs) will put his WBO bantamweight world title up for grabs against Saul Sanchez (20-2, 12 KOs), a Mexican-American dynamo stepping into his first world title challenge.
