Adam Azim Defends European Title Against Poulsen On Buatsi-Azeez Undercard

Adam Azim, the reigning champ of the EBU European Super Lightweight division, is gearing up to fiercely defend his title against the undefeated ex-champion Enock Poulsen. This electrifying showdown is set to unfurl on Saturday, February 3rd at The OVO Arena Wembley in London. Catch the action live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, and Peacock in the USA.

Azim and Poulsen are set to dazzle the crowd with their European Title tussle, serving as the stellar undercard to the much-awaited WBA World Title Final Eliminator duel. This features the unbeaten light heavyweight titans Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez, making it a blockbuster night of boxing in London.

Azim (10-0, 7 KOs) recently snatched the crown from Franck Petitjean in Wolverhampton, crowning himself as the European king. At 21, he smashed records, becoming the quickest Englishman to snag the European Title, outshining former champs Spencer Oliver and ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed. He’s also the first British-Pakistani to hoist the prestigious blue and gold belt.

Poulsen (14-0, 5 KOs), a familiar figure in European boxing glory, had his moment of triumph over Petitjean for the title in April 2022. The unbeaten Dane, a ringside witness to Azim’s crowning, is itching to reclaim the belt he never lost in the ring. He’s all fired up to halt Azim’s skyrocketing ascent.

Azim, the defending champion, boasts, “I’m raring to defend my European Title in this mammoth event. Enock Poulsen is a formidable foe, but I’m a cut above and I’ll prove it on February 3rd. He’s never encountered a fighter like me.”

Poulsen counters, “This title’s rightfully mine; Azim’s just keeping it warm for me. I’ll snatch it back and topple Azim in his backyard. He’s yet to face a worthy opponent, despite the hype in the UK. Against me, he’s bound to crumble. I’m here to showcase my true EBU Champion mettle. Victory here means the world.”

Ben Shalom, the brains behind BOXXER, chimes in, “Adam Azim made a splash on the big stage by clinching the European Title in just his tenth bout. Now, he’s up against an unbeaten ex-titleholder, a guy who’s never tasted defeat in the ring and believes he’s the legitimate champ. This fight is a thrilling addition to our jam-packed event at The OVO Arena Wembley on February 3rd. We’re betting on Adam as a future world champion, but he’s facing a critical test in Enock Poulsen.”
