Universal Promotions is promising a ‘magical’ night of boxing this Saturday, February 24, with the ‘UP Boxing Series: Return of The Magic’ event at the Samuel ‘Sammy’ Rodríguez Coliseum in Aguas Buenas. Universal Promotions will bring back fan favorite, Yomar “The Magic” Alamo (20-2-1, 12KO’s) to the ring.

“Boxing returns to the city of Aguas Buenas with an international card that will please all sports fans,” said promoter Javier Bustillo, at a press conference held at Nero House Restaurant and Bar. “We are very grateful for the support of the Honorable Mayor, Karina Nieves Serrano, for opening the doors of her municipality to us. Aguas Buenas will witness the return of Yomar Alamo in a Puerto Rico vs. Dominican Republic duel. It will be a great night of boxing.”

In the main event of the night, after seven years without fighting in Puerto Rico, Yomar “The Magic” Alamo will return to his people in search of a winning path, when he faces off against the Dominican, Adriano Ramírez (13-5, 8KO’s), in a fight scheduled for eight rounds in the super lightweight division.

“I’m ready to come back in front of my people, after so long without fighting at home,” said Alamo. “I hope Ramírez comes well prepared to give a battle to all the public that arrives at the Samuel ‘Sammy’ Rodríguez Coliseum this Saturday.”

Meanwhile, Ramírez mentioned that “I am prepared, in good shape, and committed to putting on a great show this Saturday in front of all the Puerto Rican fans. This will be a great challenge for Alamo. I come to do my job.”

In the co-main event, the promising 140-pound prospect, Omar “The New Era” Rosario (11-1, 3KO’s), will clash against Alberto Candelaria (5-3-2, 4KO’s) in a fight scheduled for six rounds.

Also, the highly-regarded super featherweight prospect, William “Yeyo” Colón (2-0, 1KO), will face newcomer Michael Mirabal.

Additionally, Brian “The Hunter” Polaco (5-0, 4KO’s), José “El Bori” Nieves (11-0, 8KO’s), Jean Carlos Cabral (4-0, 2KO’s), Erie “El Gallo” Zayas (1-0), Gabriel Planell (1-0, 1KO), Lionell “Taz” Colón (1-0), among others, will complete the card.
