Matías (20-1, 20 KOs) clinched the vacant IBF Junior Welterweight belt last February, compelling Jeremias Ponce to bow out post five rounds in Minnesota. He then upheld his title against Shohjahon Ergashev in November, leading to another withdrawal after six rounds in Las Vegas, thus maintaining his stellar streak of concluding all his triumphs before the final bell.
At 31, this marks his second title defense in an eagerly awaited bout that heralds his first bout on home soil since November 2019. It’s his 12th local bout and undeniably the most critical, showcasing the formidable striker’s zeal to dazzle his audience and edge closer to unification duels.

Paro (24-0, 15 KOs), the Australian contender, is set to disrupt the festivities, fearless of stepping into hostile ground in his inaugural World title bout. His latest spectacle saw him knocking Montana Love to the canvas twice over six rounds in San Francisco this past December. Having previously missed out on a World title clash with Regis Prograis due to injury, Paro now seizes his chance to dethrone one of the division’s most daunting champions, eagerly awaiting his shot.
