The fever of anticipation soars as Star Boxing proudly declares that the 45th instalment of their renowned fight series will showcase a WBA Continental USA double-header. Besides the previously announced WBA Continental USA main fight with ALEX “EL TORO” VARGAS (13-0 5 KO’s, Bellport, NY) taking on JULIO “EL PANTERA” ROSA (8-3 4 KO’s, Orlando, FL), there’s more to relish! The co-main fight puts WENDY “HAITIAN FIRE” TOUSSAINT (14-2 6 KO’s, Huntington, NY) against JERMONE “QUADRUPLE J” JONES JR. (7-1 6 KO’s, Phoenix, AZ), both vying for the WBA Continental USA Championship in the super welterweight division.
Now, talking about the Toussaint-Jones fight, it promises excitement when you look at it. Though Toussaint’s natural demeanor might be calm, put those boxing gloves on, and he’s a whole new animal. Case in point, Toussaint’s intense bout against Ardreal Holmes Jr. last June on DAZN. An unexpected collision resulted in a gruesome cut on Toussaint’s forehead. While anyone else would’ve preferred medical attention right away, Toussaint’s tenacity shone through. He rallied and convinced the medic to let him continue, only for the referee to later decide the injury was too severe. The result was a technical decision, but Toussaint won the hearts of even Holmes’ most diehard fans.
As Saturday approaches, Toussaint carries his confidence with pride, holding his belief that he can stand toe-to-toe with the best in the division. “I seized my last opportunity and won’t let anyone take away my will,” expressed Toussaint. “Come October 28th, I’ll step up and take what’s mine. After this win, I’m all set to climb back into the ring, chasing that ultimate dream: the world championship.”
Meanwhile, Jermone James Jones Jr., or as fans affectionately call him, “Quadruple J,” has a different vision for the night. With a significant 87% knockout rate, this Arizonian is a force to be reckoned with. He isn’t one to be swayed by the roaring crowd either. “Competing for a title is among the best feelings in boxing,” shared Jermone Jones. “Adding another feather to my cap is what I eagerly await!”
