Christopher Diaz, the junior lightweight hopeful, is lacing up for a dust-up with Headley Scott, come Saturday, March 2, at San Juan’s Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot, a stone’s throw away in Puerto Rico.
They’re squaring up for a ten-rounder in the super featherweight division, scrapping for the WBA Continental Latin America belt. This tussle is the warm-up act for Amanda Serrano’s title guard against Nina Meinke.
The show gets on the road at half-past four in the afternoon, Eastern Time, streamed live on DAZN’s YouTube, with the main acts stepping into the spotlight from 7 in the evening on DAZN.
Orlando’s own, with roots deep in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, Diaz boasts a record of 27-4, with 17 of those victories coming by way of knockout. After sitting out for nearly two years, he’s jumping back into the fray, eager to dazzle the crowd with his knockabout style. He’s up against Scott, a chap with a score to settle and eyes on a win that could turn the tide of his career.
Scott, a Brooklyn-born brawler now hanging his hat in Jonesboro, GA, brings to the table an impressive 18-1 record, with 12 knockouts, most of them before the end of round two, no less.
