Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (38-6-1, 20 KOs) muscled through a unanimous decision (98-92 twice, 99-91) over Andre Berto (32-6, 24 KOs) in a ten-round welterweight rumble.

“I felt like a king in the ring,” Guerrero quipped. “In the fighter meeting, I bragged about dancing around a bit more, sharpening my jab and fancy footwork. Berto, though, he’s one tough cookie. Quick as a hiccup, strong as an ox. He clung to me like a lovesick puppy. I’m over the moon, can’t wait to see what’s on the dinner plate next.”

Berto chimed in, “Jumped back in the ring after a bit of a holiday to right some wrongs, and boy, was I swinging for the fences! My timing was like a bad comedy routine, but hey, I gave it my all. Love this crazy fight game, but tonight, just wasn’t my night.”

These two, known for throwing down in the ring like it’s going out of style, clashed again, a throwback to their 2012 clash where Guerrero came out on top. This go-around, Guerrero was like a buzzsaw, slicing and dicing, landing hefty blows in eight out of ten rounds.

Guerrero reflected, “Had to play it smart this time. Last bout, I had a chip on my shoulder, wanted to bulldoze Berto. This time, I decided to actually use my brain and boxing chops. If you’ve seen me fight since I was just a scrappy 122-pounder, you know I can float like a butterfly. Just following dad’s advice – I might be 40, but I’m like fine wine, just getting spicier with age.”

Guerrero closed in on Berto, hammering away with 31 jabs to the body, turning the tide. Known for packing a punch in close quarters, Guerrero seemed to rattle Berto with his thunderous hits.

At the end of the day, Guerrero outpunched Berto 125 to 96, landing 39% of his shots compared to Berto’s 31%. Riding the wave of his fifth straight win, Guerrero’s eyeing another shot at the big leagues.

“I’m curious to see how far this old dog can run,” Guerrero declared. “Maybe dance my way back to a world title shot. What do you all reckon? Remember, never underestimate Mexican power, baby!”
