Robert Guerrero III, the rising star in the super featherweight division and son of the renowned former multi-division world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, electrified the audience at the Auditorio Municipal de Tijuana last Friday. Demonstrating his burgeoning talent, Guerrero III (2-0, 1 KO) faced off against local fighter Cristian Velazquez in a bout scheduled for four rounds, which was promoted by Bxstrs Promotions and broadcast live on ESPN Deportes as part of “ESPN Knockout”.
At just 17 years old, Guerrero III achieved a significant milestone in his budding career by securing his first knockout. He ended the fight in the first round with a devastating combination of a left hook and a straight right to the body, which sent Velazquez crashing to the canvas. The referee quickly intervened, declaring Guerrero III the winner by knockout.
“Scoring my first career knockout is an incredible feeling,” said Guerrero III, who goes by the nickname “El Pistolero”. “The hard work and dedication I’ve put into my training have truly paid off, and this victory is a moment I’ll always remember.”
