On Saturday, the atmospheric Infinite Reality Studios in Long Beach, California, transformed into a gladiatorial arena as CBN Promotions hosted their second “New Blood” event. Fans tuned in live on FOX Deportes in Spanish and streamed the English commentary via www.FightStars.Network. To top it off, Estrella TV will broadcast the event for those who missed the live action.

At the heart of the evening, the welterweight division saw Louie Lopez of Corona, CA, and Salvador Briceño from Guadalajara, Mexico, battle to a standstill over eight rounds. In the early exchanges, Lopez shone, while Briceño clawed back in the middle. The momentum swung like a pendulum as they each pressed for dominance. The finale was a nail-biter, with the judges unable to split the pair, all scoring it 76-76.

Lopez confidently stated his case, “I edged him out, no doubt. I’m all fired up for another go if he’s game. Just tell me when and where, and I’ll be there, gloves laced, ready for a win.”

Briceño, undeterred, was already eyeing the future. “I did the heavier lifting in the ring, and it showed. I’m not hanging my gloves up just yet. A rematch sounds about right, and I’ll jump at it. The gym is calling my name, and I’ll be there, primed for the next challenge.”

In the co-main event, the super bantamweight showcase had Eros Correa from San Jose, CA, delivering a show-stopping performance against Robin Ellis of Las Vegas, NV. After a round of tactical probing, Correa landed a haymaker in the second that sent Ellis crashing. Unable to rise, Ellis watched the referee halt the bout at 1:05 of the second round.

A four-round middleweight fight featured Nelson Oliva of Los Angeles, CA, showcasing his endurance against Dario Guerrero-Meneses. Oliva dominated the match, earning a unanimous nod with all judges seeing it 40-36 in his favor.

The night kicked off with Alejandro Luis Silva of Buenos Aires, Argentina, proving too strong for Janer Gonzalez of Cartagena, Colombia in the super welterweight division. After trading blows, Silva floored Gonzalez with a straight right in the second round. Gonzalez got to his feet, only to be met with a decisive right hook that sealed the deal at 2:05 in the same round.

Jose Mejia of Palmdale, CA, demonstrated a masterclass in counterpunching against Christopher Gonzalez in a welterweight fight. Fine-tuning his approach in the final round, Mejia took control to secure a unanimous victory with scores of 39-37 and 40-36 twice in his favor.

Opening the spectacle, Anthony Saldivar of Ontario, CA, outmaneuvered Manuel Moreira of Billings, MT, in a super welterweight clash. Maintaining distance and fluidity, Saldivar clinched a unanimous win with all judges scoring it 40-35.
