Joe Joyce speaks to Boxing News Online as he reacts to Terence Crawford’s stunning stoppage victory vs Errol Spence Jr.

Joyce was visibly impressed by the clash, lauding the solid performance put forth by Crawford.

“What a fight. I actually got the prediction right because I said it before. It’s an incredible atmosphere, to be a part of it and like behind the scenes and everything,” Joyce said.

Reflecting on the bout, Joyce thought the early rounds were relatively tight, even considering the knockout in the second round. He was excited to hear rumors of a rematch at a different weight class.

“Another great fight and I’m hearing something about a rematch at a different weight, so we’ll wait to see. Both of them are great fighters,” he commented.

Joyce was particularly struck by Crawford’s composed demeanor during the match, his defensive skills, and his ability to string together effective combinations.

“Crawford was very relaxed but had his guard up. He was putting the combinations together, getting the champ in trouble multiple times. There were moments where the fight could have been stopped, but it carried on. What a great fight,” Joyce noted.

Acknowledging Spence’s Toughness

Despite the outcome, Joyce commended Spence’s toughness and determination in the match, expressing confidence in Spence’s ability to learn from the experience and come back stronger.

“Spence showed heart, toughness, and determination. I’m sure he can do it again and learn from that, come back stronger,” Joyce stated.

When asked if he could learn something from Crawford’s performance, despite the size difference between them, Joyce acknowledged that there were elements he could potentially pick up.

“Although I’m not a southpaw, it’s good to see that. It’s quite similar to how orthodox boxers fight orthodox but obviously flipped, so it was an interesting watch,” Joyce said.
