At today’s Matchroom Boxing weigh-in, there was quite a surprise waiting for the audience.
Cherneka Johnson made a unique entrance. She showed up topless, her upper body artistically adorned with body paint.

Cherneka Johnson has shown that her fearlessness isn’t just limited to the boxing ring. This bold move came before her eagerly awaited fight against IBF super bantamweight champion, Ellie Scotney.
Cherneka ‘s tenacity and exceptional skills inside the ring are well known. Yet, her appearance at this event brought forth a new side to her persona.
It was bold. It was confident, making a clear statement of her unwavering confidence.
Ellie Scotney is set to face off against the IBF super bantamweight champion, Cherneka Johnson, in what will be her seventh professional fight.
Currently holding an undefeated record (6-0, 0 KO), Scotney is fresh off an impressive victory against Mary Romero in October. This victory clinched her the European title at 122 and rounded off a successful year in 2022 with three wins.
Johnson, hailing from Melbourne is 15-1, 6 KOs. She seized her title in April last year after a narrow win against Melissa Esquivel and successfully defended it half a year later by defeating Susie Ramadan.
Both fighters have proven their skills in the ring. Scotney has successfully aced all her previous challenges, while Johnson, whose only setback was a split decision loss to Shannon O’Connell, is a worthy champion.
