In this video interview with Little Giant Boxing, Jermell charlo tells Canelo he’s gonna be shocked when he feels his power when they rumble September 30th on showtime PPV. live at the t mobile arena in Las Vegas.

“Let’s get a surprise!” The sentiment echoes throughout the conversation. When asked what he thinks will shock Canelo the most when they step into the ring, Charlo has a clear answer:

“I think [Canelo’s] most surprised about my power, my strength. And I do really, really have [it]. I pack a different type of punch. I feel like I hit like a light heavyweight. So, we’ll see.”

The Pursuit of Belts:

In the high-stakes world of boxing, does the pursuit of belts still hold the allure it once did? Would he ever consider the honorary email titles, as some have?

“Nah, I wouldn’t want a belt sent to me. So for anybody that’s in boxing, if you receive a title, when you receive a title because somebody likes you… I don’t understand that. No belt that I’ve received has come from not knocking somebody out.”

He dives deeper, expressing a hunger for a genuine battle:

“Let me fight Undisputed 168 with my 54 belts. Then, give me at least 30 to 90 days after that fight. I’ll come to 54 and say what I want to do with the title.”

As readers, one can’t help but wonder, why are such straightforward challenges not more commonplace in the sport? Why is Charlo’s approach so refreshing?

The Name Calling Game:

When shown a picture of a contender suggesting he’s next in line, labelling him as “Little Cub,” Charlo’s reaction is balanced:

“At one point, we were like, ‘alright, everybody’s just using you for clout.’ But now, it’s a possibility this fight can happen. So hey, keep posting me, dog.”

When the name Terence Crawford surfaces, Charlo’s face lights up with respect:

“I give Terence Crawford his props. He did a great job, he’s won a fight, he made history. He’s living the dream, and that’s awesome.”

Visualizing The Ultimate Fight:

Ah, Canelo. A name that sends shivers down the spine of many in the boxing world. But for Charlo, it’s different:

“It could be a superior fight, a top dog type of fight. It could be a fight for the ages.”

A lighthearted end to an intense interview, reminding us that behind every fierce competitor is a human being with tastes, preferences, and quirks.
