Up-and-comer Adam Azim (9-0, 6 KO’s) is aiming for that title shine. On Saturday, November 18th, the 21-year-old heads to Wolverhampton to challenge the reigning EBU European Super Lightweight Champion Franck Petitjean (24-6-3, 6 KO’s), broadcast LIVE on DAZN.
With BOXXER paving his way to this important fight for the EBU title – a chance many other British promoters sought – Azim sets his sights on European glory in only his tenth professional fight. If he clinches a win, he’ll tread the path of his role model ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed by capturing an EBU title while still young, propelling himself towards significant world title opportunities.
Following his victories in the French national division and three solid title defenses, southpaw Petitjean ascended to the European division, even challenging for the IBO world championship back in 2018. He secured the EBU title again this year and is set to defend his title against Azim come November 18th.
“Facing challenges head-on has always been my forte, and being a part of such a significant overseas event gets my adrenaline pumping. I’m geared up to push Adam to his breaking point and, needless to say, head back to France with a win!” voiced the defending EBU European Super Lightweight Champion Petitjean.
“For me, fighting for the EBU title in only my tenth fight is a big deal. I’m set to give the audience something to remember and take that belt back home on November 18th,” Azim expressed.
On the same evening, EBU European Middleweight Champion Matteo Signani (32-6-3, 12 KO’s) is scheduled to defend his title against Tyler Denny (17-2, 3 KO’s) from Birmingham, who’s sure to bring a massive crowd of supporters.
Nicknamed “Il Giaguaro” (‘The Jaguar’), seasoned Italian boxer Signani has twice clinched the EBU Middleweight Championship, snatching the belt last November with a TKO victory after a technical decision setback in June. Signani now boasts a 9-1 record in his recent ten fights.
Denny’s recent successes have the UK fight community talking. He’s 4-0 with BOXXER, and three of those victories were successful English Middleweight Championship fights. Now, he’s aiming to add the European title to his tally.
“I’m gearing up stronger than ever for my fight with Tyler Denny. He’s certainly made of tough stuff, challenging me. But I’m ‘Il Giaguaro’, the reigning champ, and I plan to keep it that way. Expect an intense fight – all guts and glory!” EBU European Middleweight Champion Signani stated.
Denny, confident about the upcoming challenge, shared, “I’m prepping for the most demanding fight of my career, but I’m up for it. The crowd support will be electrifying. I’m claiming that European title on November 18th – it belongs to the Midlands!”
Ben Shalom, BOXXER CEO, shared his thoughts, “Adam Azim’s journey keeps scaling new peaks. The boxing world recognizes his talent. Taking on the European title at 21, in just his tenth professional fight, is a testament to his skill and the commendable efforts of the BOXXER team.
“Petitjean is an experienced adversary and Azim’s sternest challenge yet. But if Adam overcomes this, the possibilities are endless. We’re even eyeing world title chances for him next year.
“Tyler Denny’s journey with us has been remarkable. From a boxer full of potential to now challenging for a European title, his growth has been commendable. The energy from his supporters will be electrifying come fight night.”
