Golden Boy Promotions just inked a deal with Arnold Barboza Jr., the undefeated WBO Intercontinental Super Lightweight Champ. Barboza, with a record of 28 wins and 10 KOs, is set to showcase his skills at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. He’ll be fighting on the same night as the Ryan Garcia vs. Oscar Duarte showdown, all broadcasted on DAZN, come Saturday, December 2.

Barboza’s pumped up, ready to take on big names and headline major events, especially back home in LA. He’s trusting Golden Boy and Oscar De La Hoya to line up those top fights he’s been chasing.

Oscar De La Hoya, the big man at Golden Boy, sees Barboza as a perfect fit for their squad. He’s got talent and an eye on the world champion title. De La Hoya’s confident they’ll steer Barboza towards a World Title Belt soon, believing he’s the kind of fighter who’ll shake things up in the 140-pound division.

Rick Mirigian, Barboza’s manager, threw in his two cents, talking about value in the boxing world. According to him, Golden Boy’s quick move to sign Barboza shows they know his worth.

Barboza, a 31-year-old fighter from LA, made a splash in his pro debut back in 2013. Since then, he’s been tearing through the competition, climbing the ranks to snag top spots with the WBO, Ring Magazine, and WBC. He’s bagged a few regional titles too, like the WBO International and NABF Super Lightweight Titles. His record’s peppered with wins against big names like Jose Pedraza, Danielito Zorrilla, Alex Saucedo, and Antonio Moran.
