Top Rank Boxing rolls into Corpus Christi, bringing with it a night where gloves will fly and the canvas will shake. On the marquee for the evening, Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson squares up against Ryad Merhy in a heavyweight bout that promises fireworks.
Anderson, undefeated with a knack for ending fights early, steps into the ring fresh from a year where he left his opponents eating dust. With a record that speaks volumes (16-0, 15 KOs), Anderson’s recent history includes flattening George Arias, schooling former champ Charles Martin, and steamrolling Andriy Rudenko without breaking a sweat.
Crossing the pond for his American debut, Merhy (32-2, 26 KOs) packs a punch and a half, aiming to shake up the scene after taking down Tony Yoka in a shocker last December in Paris.
The co-main event throws Efe Ajagba and Guido “The Gladiator” Vianello into the mix, two 2016 Olympians who know a thing or two about throwing down. Ajagba, with power in both hands, looks to dismantle Vianello and climb the heavyweight ranks.
Kicking off the televised onslaught, Robson Conceicao and Jose Guardado throw down in a junior lightweight clash. Conceicao, hungry for world title glory, faces a tricky customer in Guardado, who’s no stranger to causing upsets.
The undercard, a buffet of fistic fury, gets going at 5:50 p.m. ET, streamed exclusively on ESPN+ for those who like their appetizers before the main course.
