Yomar Alamo (21-2-1, 13KO’s), sent shockwaves through a packed Samuel Rodríguez Coliseum. The fans gathered to witness the return of professional boxing to Aguas Buenas with “UP Boxing Series: Return of The Magic” brought to you by Universal Promotions.

From the get-go, Alamo was dead set on giving his hometown crowd something to cheer about, especially since he hadn’t fought in Aguas Buenas since August 2017. The Aguas Buenas native landed a solid flurry of four consecutive hooks to the head of Dominican Adriano Ramírez, knocking him out cold in the first round.

In the semi-main event, Omar Rosario (12-1, 3KO’s) got back on the winning track by unanimously outpointing Alberto Candelaria. Rosario faced some pushback from a focused Candelaria, making him work for it. All three judges scored the bout 60-54.

Ending an 18-month layoff, Bryan Polaco (6-0, 4KO’s) unanimously defeated Mexican Luis Solís. Polaco dished out punishment, hurting Solís on several occasions, yet Solís kept coming back for more. The judges scored the fight 60-54, 59-55, and 60-54.

The promising super featherweight prospect, William Colón (3-0, 2KO’s), showcased his dominance by annihilating Michael Mirabal in the first round.

In other bouts, Jean Carlos Cabral (5-0, 3KO’s) won by technical knockout in three rounds against Ismael Aulet. José Nieves (12-0, 9KO’s) knocked down Mexican Armando Torres four times, clinching a technical knockout win in three rounds. Erie Zayas (2-0, 1KO) knocked out American Shane Bridges in the first round. Lionell Colón (2-0, 1KO) dispatched Darwin Alvarez in the opening round.
