Video: Canelo Alvarez TV Azteca Interview

Canelo Alvarez has gone and tied the knot with TV Azteca in Mexico for another year, sticking it to the big-shots who wanted to slap a price tag on his brawls. He’s keeping it real for the locals – no pay-to-view nonsense on his watch for Mexican boxing fans. The man’s not hanging up his gloves anytime soon either, reckoning he’s got a solid five years of scrapping left in him. And for his next fight on May 4th, he’s stepping into the ring with an opponent from the States, chucking cold water on the gossip that he’d duke it out with a fellow Mexican.

“There is no fight between Mexicans! Canelo’ Álvarez assures that he will not face Jaime Munguía in May,” said Box Azteca on X.

Looks like Jermall Charlo’s in the frame to have a crack at Alvarez’s stash of super-middleweight bling – the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO belts.
