Danish boxing sensation Dina Thorslund is tightening her gloves and entering the ring with what she’s calling her “toughest bout” to date. The showdown will be against Mexican powerhouse Yuliahn Luna Avila in a thrilling clash of world bantamweight champions on Friday, September 1st, at the Graakjaer Arena in Holstebro, Denmark.

With an unblemished record of 19 wins, and the ability to land knockout punches in eight of those fights, Thorslund is itching to successfully defend her World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight title for the fourth round in her home ring since snatching the belt from another Mexican opponent, Jasseth Noriega, in June 2021.

Thorslund’s eyes are set on a triple crown as she aims to dethrone the battle-hardened Luna (25-3-1, 3KOs) for the World Boxing Council (WBC) bantamweight championship and grab the vacant Ring Magazine jewel. The stakes are high, with the explosive 10-round main event of the night co-promoted by Disrupt Promotions and TK Promotion promising fireworks.

Riding high on the wave of her eighth-round knockout win over Argentinian Débora Anahí López in February 2023, Thorslund aims to bring the same fierce performance before an electrified hometown crowd.

Thorslund, a warrior in the ring, weighed in: “I’ll need both fists against Luna. She’s got her own championship belt, so this is shaping up to be the fight of my life. I’m ready to step into the ring and write a new page in the history books as the first Danish female to not only secure two world titles but to clinch the Ring Magazine title as well.”

“I’ve been training like a champion, grinding hard with top-notch sparring partners like Ebonie Jones and Skye Nicolson. They’ve been cornerstones in my preparation, and I believe all this sweat and toil will lead to a victory.”

“I can’t wait to step into the ring again in front of my Danish fans. I’ll need every shout and every bit of energy from them to help me achieve my goal of raising Denmark’s boxing flag higher. I’m eager to show the world the quality of Danish boxing.”

Sharing the fight card with Thorslund, Brazilian Gold medalist Hebert Souza Conceicao and Irish super-lightweight Steven Cairns are set to showcase their skills. Additionally, home-grown talents like Jacob Bank, Payman Akbari, Nesar Kunduzi, and Mikkel Gribsholt will step between the ropes, ready to throw down.
