Sarah Mahfoud vs Marcela Acuña back in action on October 7th in Copenhagen!

The boxing scene in Copenhagen is heating up as Danish boxing sensation, Bettina Palle, rolls out another  edition of the Danish Fight Night at the glamorous Royal Arena.

Front and center of the action, ex-IBF world champ, Sarah Mahfoud (13-1, 3 KOs) puts her WBC Silver featherweight title on the line. Standing across the ring? None other than Argentina’s multiple-time world champ, Marcela Eliana Acuña (53-9-2, 20 KO’s).

You might recall, this is Sarah’s third noise-making fight after that significant point loss to boxing sensation Amanda Serrano last year in Manchester. Hailing from the Faroe Islands, 34-year-old Mahfoud is no stranger to recognition – she’s already in the top-contender list of all the four main sanctioning bodies. Let’s just say she’s gunning for the top, and getting those belts back is her primary agenda.

Sarah exclaims, “Taking on a seasoned champ like Acuña? It’s a boxer’s dream. Winning against her means knocking on those world title doors again. Her reputation in women’s boxing is second to none.” And she’s not all talk. With her blend of strategic boxing and offensive techniques, she’s ready to entertain us all. And guess who’s guiding her punches? Her bro, Allan Mahfoud, coupled with the coaching genius of Mauricio Ramirez and Mark Abildhauge.

However, don’t count Acuña out. With over 25 world title fights under her belt, this veteran’s goals are crystal clear, “Defeating Sarah? It’s the golden ticket back to the world title arena.”

And oh, that’s not all the excitement on the card.

Ex-European super light champ, Enock Poulsen (13-0), is squaring off against Italy’s Mirko Marchatti (8-5). This bout is Poulsen’s final prep before challenging the winner of the EBU title fight slated for February 2024.

Meanwhile, Denmark’s super welter powerhouse, Oliver Meng (11-0), who’s been making significant noise, will meet Italy’s Mirko Di Carlantonio (16-11-1) in an eight-rounder. Just a trip down memory lane – Meng schooled another Italian, Khalid El Harraz, earlier in 2023.

Chechen-born Danish dynamite, Yusub Pashaev, will be stepping out of the amateur shadows, ready to cause some chaos against the seasoned Ali Hussein (8-2-1, 3 KO’s).

Ali’s younger bro, Hamza Hussein (3-0), is ready to rumble with Irakli Alanidze (5-2) in a 4-round cruiserweight scrap. Plus, fresh faces like Victor Ramon (2-0) and Mathias Hansen (1-0) will be showcasing their talent against formidable opponents.

Before the pros steal the limelight, catch some sizzling amateur action. Keep an eye on Nikolai Terteryan as he squares off against Norway’s best, Alborz Sabet. Fun fact: Terteryan’s setting sights on the Paris Olympics, hoping to grab Denmark’s first boxing medal since Brian Nielsen’s 1992 win.

The mastermind behind this boxing extravaganza? Bettina Palle, carrying forward her father, the legendary promoter Mogens Palle’s legacy. If you can’t be ringside, Pluto TV’s got you covered for live action in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
