Pablo Cesar Cano Celebrates 34th With a KO Over Ochoa – Fight Results

Pablo Cesar Cano claimed a solid sixth-round win over Zachary Ochoa on ProBox TV’s Wednesday Night Fights straight from sunny Plant City, Florida.

Having previously tangled with the greats like Shane Mosley, Erik Morales, and even exchanging friendly jabs with ProBox TV’s very own Paulie Malignaggi, Cano added another feather to his cap, boasting a record now of 35-8-1 with 25 of those by knockout. Ochoa? He put up a respectable show under Florida’s lights, but his record took a slight dent, sitting at 21-4, including two knockouts.

Cano’s night didn’t open up flawlessly – a nasty cut in the second round saw some worried faces. But boy, did he bounce back! Before anyone could gasp at the cut, Cano was all over Ochoa, making it rain punches. If Ochoa’s resilience hadn’t kicked in, the towel might’ve been thrown in right there.

By the third, Ochoa seemed to be on the ropes (literally and figuratively) from a mean left hook, while Cano grappled with his earlier injury, clearly affected by the streaming blood. The fourth and fifth rounds made it seem like Ochoa might pull through. But Cano, true to form, had a plot twist ready for the sixth. A sharp combo sent Ochoa to the canvas and, even though he got back up, Cano was relentless. The ref had seen enough and called it a night.

Jose Nunez squared off with Omar Salcido and trust me, their fight was nothing short of a rollercoaster! Ten solid rounds, with both fighters tasting the canvas. In the end, Nunez had his hand raised with scores of 98-89, 98-87, and 95-90, pushing his stats to 16-0-2 with 7 KOs. Salcido, though spirited, ended with a record of 17-1, those 12 knockouts looking a tad less shiny.

Meanwhile, Jose Arellano gave Oscar Alvarez a lesson, marking a consecutive defeat for Alvarez. And Trevor Thomson’s hands were full with Willie Shaw, but Thomson clinched it with a unanimous decision.

Don’t miss out on the next Wednesday Night Fights. Brandon Glanton is set to throw down with Carlos Fromenta in the cruiserweight division come October 18.
