In an exciting new chapter of DiBella Entertainment’s Broadway Boxing series, “Heroes on the Hudson” is set to honor the indomitable spirit of the U.S. Armed Forces veterans. Leading the charge is world-ranked contender Mikiah Kreps, gunning to maintain her undefeated streak, as she faces Isis Vargas Perez in an eight-round super bantamweight contest. The setting? The dazzling Edison Ballroom in New York City.

What makes the evening truly special, beyond the explosive boxing matchups, is its dedication to the heroes of the armed forces. It’s an evening that intertwines sport with salute. Adding to the fervor is Mikiah Kreps’ co-manager and former world champion, Jamel “Semper Fi” Herring, who takes the limelight in the main event.

The night’s action will start with amateur bouts, exclusive to the live audience, featuring NYPD officers and military veterans. Post this, the professional bouts kick in, culminating with the eagerly anticipated Kreps vs. Perez showdown, all airing live on DAZN from 8:00 PM ET.

As for the tickets, they’re available through Telecharge.com or by phone at (800) 447-7400. If you’re aiming for a luxe experience, a table for ten with a sit-down dinner comes at $10,000. The event is backed by the notable names of Morgan Stanley and Cavu Securities. Keeping in line with the spirit of honoring the military, a chunk of the event’s proceeds will support Merging Vets and Players and the West Point Society of New York.

Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment, expressed his anticipation for the event, particularly highlighting Kreps’ participation. “Having Mikiah Kreps on this card is thrilling, especially since she’ll share the evening with her co-manager, Jamel Herring. Facing former world title challenger Isis Vargas Perez, Mikiah is set to prove why she’s pegged as a future world champion,” he stated.

Manny Robles, the renowned trainer, will join Kreps’ corner, flanked by her mother, Deborah Fields. Fields, also known as the “Knockout Nurse,” gave Kreps her first taste of boxing, inadvertently setting her on a path to greatness. Kreps’ amateur accolades include victories at the 2018 Elite National Championships, the 2017 Eastern Elite Qualifier, and 2014 National Golden Gloves. Now undefeated as a pro with a 6-0 record (3 KOs), Kreps takes immense pride in fighting under the “Heroes on the Hudson” banner, more so with Herring, a US Marine veteran, in the main event.

Kreps’ latest win came from a rapid first-round knockout against Luz Elena Martinez this May. In contrast, her upcoming opponent, Isis Vargas Perez, clinched an eight-round majority decision against Jacqueline Mucio Munoz last October. Perez also took on Yamileth Mercado for the WBC super bantamweight world title in April 2022.

Both fighters have voiced their enthusiasm for the bout, promising fans an electrifying showdown.

This “Heroes on the Hudson” event, both a tribute and a treat, promises a memorable evening, seamlessly blending respect for the armed forces with the thrill of boxing. With the spotlight on the veterans and the boxing ring, it’s a night where heroes of different kinds come together.
