Lubin vs. Ramos Fight Analysis: Did Ramos Get Robbed?

The boxing scene  on X was shocked and not just from the punches. On one corner, we had Erickson “Hammer” Lubin (26-2, 18 KOs), and in the opposing corner,  Jesus “Mono” Ramos Jr. (20-1, 16 KOs). After 12 rounds , Lubin was declared the winner with scores of 117-111, 116-112, and 115-113. But the burning question in the air – was Ramos cheated out of a win?

Lubin confidently remarked, “Our game plan was pretty straightforward: size him up, box, and strike with those swift counter punches. I’d say we nailed the ‘Boxing 101’ script, and the scores showed it.”

But, Ramos, ever the sportsman, expressed his dismay with a touch of grace. “To be frank, I believed I had the edge. But, hey, cheers to Lubin. The man was on his game. For me, now? Time to re-strategize.”

Now, let’s break it down. Lubin’s past fights saw him face defeat against boxing names like Jermell Charlo and Sebastian Fundora. But this win, has it repositioned him for another shot at the title? The 27-year-old’s strategy was clear: bait Ramos in and land those surprise counter punches.

Lubin, perhaps overly proud, shared, “That jab of mine? A work of art. But every time I was against the ropes, that’s when Ramos shined. My coach kept reminding me of that. And, not to brag, but I think I shook Ramos more than once, even if he played it cool.”

Here’s where things get dicey. Ramos landed a whopping 145 punches to Lubin’s 92. And yet, the judges seemed swayed by Lubin’s defensive moves and consistent jab. Ramos, though not thrilled, reflected maturely, “I aimed to showcase a broader range in the ring, not just be the aggressor. Takeaway? Next time, don’t leave it to the judges. Maybe dial it up a notch. Still, lessons learned.”

But here’s the rub: with Ramos having such a clear edge in punches landed, why didn’t the scorecards reflect that? Was there an inherent bias? A scoring system that needs revisiting? Or just plain bad judging?

Lubin, flying high, stated, “This is me making it clear: I ain’t just another name. I’m among the elite in this division. And those championship belts? They’ll be mine soon.”

So, was Ramos robbed? You be the judge. I say YES.

  1. JUST LOOK AT THE COMPUBOX… SO OBVIOUS. BETTER STILL, WATCH IN SLOW MOTION AND COUNT THE PUNCHES ONE BY ONE. MOST OF LUBINS PUNCHES WERE BLOCKED. RAMOS DESERVES A TITLE SHOT…..HE IS A GOOD MAN AND AN EXCELLENT BOXER. LUBIN NEED NOT WATCH THE VIDEO….HE KNOWS HE LOST.
