UFC stalwart Nate Diaz is set to make his professional boxing debut against Jake Paul, the internet personality who has transformed into a boxer. The fight takes place on August 5, 2023,  at the  American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. You can catch all the action live on DAZN or order the fight on PPV.com

Jake Paul’s boxing record stands strong at 6-1-0. Highlights of his career include a knockout win in the first round against former MMA combatant Ben Askren, and a ‘KO of the Year’ in his 2021 rematch against Tyron Woodley. His sole defeat so far came in a close split decision against Tommy Fury, despite Paul managing to floor Fury in the final round.

While Paul holds more boxing bouts to his name, Diaz is no amateur when it comes to high-profile combat sports. He’s faced and triumphed over big names in the MMA world, notably clinching a victory against Conor McGregor in UFC 196 back in 2016.

Interestingly to note, bouts featuring YouTube personalities like Paul have been drawing massive audiences since 2018, leading to larger payouts. According to a boxing purse study by Parimatch, the combined purse for YouTube boxers has surpassed £105 million. A sports payout report on Instagram reveals that Paul stands to gain up to $2 million from this fight, while Diaz is set to pocket a neat half-million.

This payout will mark Paul’s second-highest, only behind his $3.2 million earnings from his match with Fury.

As far as the boxing odds are concerned, Parimatch is favoring Paul to secure a win, most likely through a technical decision.

  • Jake Paul to win – 1/4
  • Jake Paul – to win by Decision or Technical Decision – 3/1
  • Jake Paul – to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification – 8/11
  • Draw or Technical Draw – 14/1
  • Nate Diaz – to win by Decision or Technical Decision – 8/1
  • Nate Diaz – to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification – 6/1
  • Nate Diaz to win – 3/1

The event’s undercard will spotlight an exciting rematch between Heather Hardy and Amanda Serrano. In their first face-off back in September 2019, Serrano clinched a unanimous decision win and claimed the WBO women’s featherweight title. Since that match, Serrano has unified the featherweight division, while Hardy is eager to rebound from her recent setback.

Both Hardy and Serrano are not just confined to the boxing ring; they have tested their skills in MMA tournaments as well. Hardy has taken part in Bellator, and Serrano in Comate Estrellas.

In this rematch, the odds are largely favoring another triumph for Serrano.

  • Amanda Serrano to win – 1/18
  • Draw – 20/1
  • Heather Hardy to win – 10/1
