Gavin Gwynne Lands Big Deal with Frank Warren’s Queensberry: Eyes On European Glory!

Gavin Gwynne, the standout British Lightweight champ, has inked a juicy deal with boxing heavyweight Frank Warren and Queensberry.

This 33-year-old boxer, who started his pro journey in 2016, seized the Welsh champion’s title in just a tad over a year. He snatched the Lonsdale belt in April 2022 after trouncing Luke Willis and subsequently held his ground twice against fellow countryman Craig Woodruff, where their initial fight ended in a tantalizing draw.

The tides truly turned for our Merthyr Tydfil hero when he astonished everyone by taking down Sean McComb in February 2021. He sent the Irish boxer packing in the seventh round to clinch the Commonwealth title. And yes, along the way, he had his brushes with Joe Cordina and James Tennyson for the British title.

Now, Gwynne has his sights set on the vacant EBU European lightweight title, squaring off against Emiliano Marsili. But hey, patience! The date’s still under wraps.

Gwynne, bubbling with excitement, shared, “Joining Queensberry is a dream. This is the jolt my career’s been waiting for. Eyes on that European title, and then… the sky’s the limit! Oh, and let’s bring some big boxing nights back to my homeland, Wales.”

Frank Warren, never one to miss a beat, chimed in, “Thrilled to have Gavin with Queensberry! We’ll have him in the championship fights in no time. The guy’s a talent, winning the British and now gearing up for the European title. If he conquers Marsili, the boxing world better watch out! Also, a little birdie tells me some young lightweights in our camp are keeping tabs on him.”
