On the night of September 8th, Detroit’s own Davontae Kirk is lacing up the gloves and stepping back into the ring, ready to unleash his fury in a battle with an opponent who will be named in the coming days. The Motor City Casino will host the showdown, with veteran promoter Carlos Llinas steering the card.

Standing tall at 5’11”, Kirk is a force in the ring with a boxer-puncher style. With knockout power in both hands, he’s on the prowl to dazzle the hometown crowd in his second bout of 2023.

“I never pull my punches. The fans deserve nothing but the best, and that’s what they’ll get,” promised Kirk. “Whoever they put up against me, they’re going down, and they’ll go down hard on September 8th.”

Kirk’s corner isn’t just anybody, either. Guiding his journey is none other than the former multi-division title challenger, Benjamin “BJ” Flores, who sees in Kirk a star in the making, complete with all the raw power and dogged determination a true contender needs.

“Boxing’s no sprint; it’s a marathon. True champions are built over time, and Davontae’s got all the makings to go the distance,” said Flores. “The road to greatness stretches out before him, and it’s his to take.”

The night promises to be a real homecoming for Kirk. Promoter Carlos Llinas has been a mainstay in the Detroit boxing scene for over 15 years, bringing the ring’s best and brightest to the Motor City faithful time and again.

Flores, in addition to managing Kirk, handles other heavy hitters, such as 205-pound world Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship king Lorenzo Hunt, and top BKFC middleweight up-and-comer, Brutal Jake Bostwick. He’s set on shaping their paths to glory.

“This is no game; this is life. I’ve switched gears, and nothing lights my fire like forging champions and giving back to the sport I love. We’re just warming up,” Flores declared, all smiles.

Hunt, in his own right, is set to defend his BKFC 205-pound crown against Chris Cammozi on September 22 in Denver, Colorado.

Flores’ influence extends even further, as part of the “Small Council” for Misfits Celebrity Boxing, an increasingly popular boxing enterprise. From determining fighter rankings to shaping future matchups and venues, his hand is guiding the sport’s future.

With a seat ringside for the highly anticipated KSI versus Tommy Fury bout in Manchester on October 14, Flores continues to be a powerful presence in the boxing world, training, managing, and leading the way. But all eyes will be on Kirk and his Detroit showdown come September 8th, where he promises to unleash a storm in the ring and make his city proud.
