Oscar Collazo To Defend His Title On Munguia Vs. Ryder Undercard

Golden Boy Promotions has concocted a sizzling undercard, peppered with two world championship defenses and a parade of rising stars, all setting the stage for the main event showdown. It’s the undefeated ex-champ Jaime Munguía (42-0, 33 KOs) locking horns with the U.K.’s own former Interim World Champion, John Ryder (32-6, 18 KOs). This 12-round super middleweight brawl for the WBC Silver Title, a joint venture with Zanfer Boxing and Matchroom Boxing, is set to electrify Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona  on Saturday, January 27. The fisticuffs will be broadcast globally live on DAZN, starting at 6:00 p.m. MST/ 5:00 p.m. PST.

The co-main event, a brainchild of Miguel Cotto Promotions, showcases Oscar “El Pupilo” Collazo (8-0, 6 KOs) of Villalba, Puerto Rico, defending his WBO Minimumweight World Championship title. His challenger? Reyneris Gutierrez (10-1, 2 KOs) from Matagalpa, Nicaragua. Scheduled for 12 rounds, Collazo steps back into the ring, riding the high of a knock-out victory over Garen Diagan in Puerto Rico.

The DAZN Broadcast will also feature knockout prodigy Darius “DFG” Fulghum (9-0, 9 KOs) defending his WBA Continental USA Super Middleweight Title against the wily Alantez “SlyAza” Fox (28-5-1, 13 KOs) in a 10-rounder. Co-promoted with Sampson Boxing, IBF Female Flyweight World Champion Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora (12-0, 5 KOs) of Coachella Valley, California, is set to defend her title in a 10-round skirmish against Christina Cruz (6-0, 0 KOs) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Opening the DAZN broadcast, Mexico City’s David Picasso Romero (26-0-1, 15 KOs) will clash with Erik Ruiz (17-9-1, 7 KOs) of Oxnard, California, in a 10-round super bantamweight bout.

On the preliminary card, Daniel “Junebug” Garcia (7-0, 5 KOs) of Denver, Colorado, will throw down in a six-round lightweight scrap against Phoenix’s own Daniel Lugo (4-1, 1 KOs). Gregory Morales (15-1, 9 KOs) of San Antonio, Texas, is set to duel Ronal Ron (14-4, 11 KOs) of Chino Hills, California, in an eight-round super bantamweight tussle. In a four-round bantamweight clash, former Mexican Olympian Gael “El Terror” Cabrera (3-0, 2 KOs) will square off against Miguel Ceballos (2-0, 2 KOs) of Peoria, Arizona. Kicking off the night, Johnny “Sugarcane” Cañas (2-0, 2 KOs) of Santa Ana, California, will face off against William Davis (2-1-1, 1 KO) of Oakland, California.
