Charles Conwell, the top dog in the WBC super welterweight division, has just penned a deal with Golden Boy Promotions. This is big news, folks.
Mark Habibi from Wise Owl Boxing couldn’t contain his excitement, saying, “We’re over the moon for Charles teaming up with Golden Boy. He’s right on the brink of snagging a shot at the world title, and we’re chuffed to bits that Golden Boy is throwing their hat in the ring to help Charles nab that dream he’s been chasing since he was a nipper.”
As for Conwell himself, he’s buzzing to climb back into the ring after a year’s break. “Can’t wait to have a go at the world title soon. The 154 division is where the action is, and I’m right in the thick of it. Chuffed to have Golden Boy backing me on my quest for the championship belt,” he stated.
At 26, this Cleveland native and 2016 U.S. Olympian boasts an unbeaten streak of 18-0, with 13 of those wins by knockout. Not to mention, he’s already had a taste of victory as the former USBA and WBC Silver Super Welterweight champ.
