This past Saturday, CBN Promotions threw down the gauntlet with its third edition of the “New Blood” boxing series at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, CA. It was a night of fists and fury, broadcasted live in Spanish on FOX Deportes and streamed in English on FightStars.Network. If you missed the live action, catch it on tape delay on Estrella TV.

The featherweight main event was a sizzler with Brandon Benitez (21-2, 9 KOs) from Queretaro, MX, duking it out against Rigoberto Hermosillo (14-5-1, 9 KOs) from Los Angeles, CA. This 8-rounder had fans on the edge of their seats as both warriors went toe-to-toe. Benitez, flexing his power, delivered a knockout punch with a wicked left hook to the body at 1:41 in the sixth round. Victory keeps him perched as the WBO / NABO Featherweight champ.

Benitez was all swagger post-fight, “We were going to war early, and I knew I’d take him down eventually. I was feeling stronger as the fight went on, and my hard work paid off with that sixth-round stop. I’m ready to rumble with anyone in the top ten.”
