The long-awaited showdown between undefeated knockout prodigy Vergil Ortiz, Jr. (19-0, 19 KOs) from Grand Prairie, Texas, and World Champion Eimantas Stanionis (14-0, 9 KOs) from Kaunas, Lithuania, has received a new date. The two will compete for Stanionis’ WBA Regular Welterweight Title, with the bout initially set for April 29 but postponed after Ortiz, Jr. experienced a rhabdomyolysis flare-up caused by long COVID. The 12-round championship battle is now slated for July 8 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, and will be exclusively streamed worldwide on DAZN.
Stanionis vs. Ortiz, Jr. tickets will be available for purchase starting Thursday, May 18 at 10 a.m. CT. Prices range from $50 to $250, excluding applicable service charges. Tickets can be acquired through ticketmaster.com or the Ticketmaster App on mobile devices.
