A big night of boxing is coming to Melbourne on May 24, featuring some of the best fighters from Australia and New Zealand. The event, promoted by No Limit Boxing, will be headlined by two exciting bouts: Joseph Parker vs Faiga Opelu for the Commonwealth heavyweight title, and Nikita Tszyu vs Benjamin Bommber in a super welterweight showdown.

Joseph Parker is a former WBO world heavyweight champion who has been training with his friend and current WBC king Tyson Fury. He is aiming to become the first fighter from the Pacific to win the prestigious Commonwealth belt. His opponent, Faiga Opelu, is a former Australian heavyweight champion who pulled off a stunning upset last year by stopping the unbeaten Hemi Ahio.
The Commonwealth heavyweight title is one of the oldest and most prestigious titles in boxing. It has been contested by some of the greatest fighters in history, such as Lennox Lewis, Henry Cooper, and Larry Gains. The title is currently vacant, but it will soon have a new owner when Parker-Opelu faces off in a historic bout.
Parker-Opelu is a clash of two undefeated fighters from the Pacific region, who have both earned their shot at the Commonwealth crown. Parker is a former WBO heavyweight champion, who has beaten the likes of Andy Ruiz Jr., Hughie Fury, and Carlos Takam. Opelu is a rising star from Samoa, who has knocked out all of his opponents in impressive fashion.
The winner of this fight will not only claim the Commonwealth title, but also make history as the first fighter from the Pacific to do so. The title has been held by boxers from various countries, such as England, Australia, Canada, Ghana, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe, but never by someone from the Pacific islands. This is a rare opportunity for both fighters to showcase their skills and pride on a global stage.
Nikita Tszyu is the son of the legendary Kostya Tszyu, who was an undisputed champion and a fan favourite in Melbourne. Nikita is following in his father’s footsteps, having won all five of his professional fights by knockout. He will face his toughest challenge yet in Benjamin Bommber, an undefeated prospect who has been training with Floyd Mayweather’s team in Las Vegas.
Tszyu is the younger brother of Tim Tszyu, who recently won an interim world title in March. Tszyu has followed in his brother’s footsteps by winning all of his five professional fights by knockout. He has also faced tough opposition, as he will take on his fifth undefeated opponent in only his sixth professional fight.

Bommber is a hard-hitting fighter from Melbourne, who has been training with some of the best in the business. He has spent time at Floyd Mayweather’s gym in Las Vegas, and has joined forces with Devin Haney’s team for this fight. He has also won all of his five professional fights by knockout, and is confident that he can upset Tszyu.
The undercard will also feature a heavyweight clash between two former AFL stars: Cameron Mooney and Tom Bellchambers. Both men are making their professional boxing debuts and are eager to prove themselves in the ring.
The event will be broadcast live on Main Event PPV, available on Foxtel and Kayo Sports.
