All-time great NFL running back Frank Gore (1-0, 1 KO), will once again step inside the professional boxing ring this Saturday, December 3, at the historic Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas. The 39-year-old, future Hall of Famer will be featured in the main event of a stacked 9-bout fight card against South Texas-based heavyweight Joshua Romero (0-2).
The highly anticipated event will be presented by TMB Promotions and distributed by FITE TV/Triller; available for purchase through the attached link for a one-time cost of $24.99:
The heavyweight main event is scheduled for 4 rounds and will be Gore’s second bout in less than 7 months.
The five-time Pro-Bowler doesn’t know how far he’ll take his newfound career in boxing but admits that he’s enjoyed the journey thus far.
“I do it because I love it. I know don’t have to do it. But I feel like I’m still in great shape and love to compete,” states the NFL’s third-ranked all-time leading rusher. “I love the challenge. Boxing is serious and extremely hard. I take my hat off to any devoted fighter who does this for a living.”
In the co-main event of the evening, hungry young Super Featherweight Ricky Medina Jr. (13-1, 7 KOs) will make his return to the Alamo City in a scheduled six-round special attraction against Steven Garagarza (3-5-1, 2 KOs) of Laredo, Texas. The 22-year-old prospect will attempt to get back in the win column after suffering his first professional defeat against Raymond Ford in June.
“I tasted defeat for the first time and I didn’t like it,” claims “El Castigo”. “I’ve been working extremely hard to get another victory for my fans in San Antonio. I learned a lot from the loss to Ford and understand what I can do better. Fans will see the real Ricky Medina on Saturday night.”
Undefeated Super Flyweight hopeful Guillermo Gutierrez (5-0, 1 KO) will be competing against fight veteran Robert Ledesma of San Antonio, Texas. The razor-sharp prospect has fought twice this year and is quickly becoming a fan favorite in the Alamo City. Most ringside observers believe Guillermo to be a future world champion at 115 or 118 pounds.
