In the main event, Murfreesboro’s Rydell “Super” Mayes Jr. will seek redemption in his rematch with Jaden Booth of Knoxville, TN. Mayes, 12-1 (11 KOs), was stopped by Booth in three rounds of their 2021 heavyweight bout. Booth was badly hurt early on, but showed the resolve to outslug the overanxious favorite. Mayes, 33, has since won four bouts by stoppage while keeping his eyes set on rematching Booth. The return bout is scheduled for eight rounds. Mayes weighed in at 236 pounds. Booth, 31, tipped the scales at 261 pounds.

“This fight is definitely important to me even though I am mainly focused on campaigning as a cruiserweight now,” Mayes Jr. stated. “This was just something I couldn’t let go; I couldn’t get over. It’s a fight I felt I should have won the first time. I had to ask for it back, so I could right that wrong. I’ve been working hard, making sure I am prepared. I am ready for this fight. Ready to make it happen and move forward with my career.”

The other half of the rematch had this to offer.

“I trained a lot, so I know I am in shape,” Booth explained. “I like to fight, so I took the rematch. I feel pretty confident in the training that I’ve done and all my training partners. We should be good.”

In a widely anticipated Special Attraction Bout, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller will make his U.S. ring return against Derek Cardenas, 24, of Mexico. Miller, 24-0-1 (20 KOs) and hailing from Brooklyn, NY, ended a three-year hiatus on June 23 with a ten-round win over Ariel Bracamonte in Argentina. Keeping a busy schedule, the heavyweight plans to shed excess rust and advance his standing in the division and reclaim a title fight opportunity. Miller-Cardenas is scheduled for ten rounds. Miller, 34, weighed in at 328 pounds. Cardenas checked in at 269 pounds.

Round 12: The Evolution of Boxing

Belcher, 38, takes on a forty-bout journeyman in Rayford Johnson in a scheduled four round heavyweight affair. Belcher weighed in at 225. Johnson weighed 247 pounds.

“I have been in a perpetual training camp for the past two years to get myself in the best possible shape,” Belcher shared. “I want to be ready to go at all times. I am trying to get as much work as possible. I take all of my opponents seriously, so I am here to fight Rayford Johnson to continue getting more wins and making my way up in pro boxing. I am campaigning in bareknuckle boxing. My next fight there will be for the world title. After that, I will see how far I can go and get both those titles together.”

Opening the night, Eridanni Leon, 30, will take on Anthony Woods in a four round welterweight bout.
