Boxing returns to Washington, D.C. on Saturday, May 28 with Greg “Sharp Shooter” Outlaw, Jr. (10-1, 5 KOs) of Glenarden, Md. facing battle-tested Wilfrido Buelvas (22-15, 16 KOs) of Barranquilla, Colombia in the Main Event, Washington, D.C.’s Anthony Peterson (38-1-1, 24 KOs) going toe-to-toe with Saul Corral (30-18, 13 KOs) of Douglas, Ariz. in the Co-Main Event and Baltimore’s Domnique “Dimes” Crowder (12-0, 8 KOs) will take on Yeison Vargas (20-9, 15 KOs) of Cartagena, Colombia for the vacant WBA-NABA Gold Super Bantamweight Championship in a special attraction bout. The featured bouts are part of Beltway Battles: Round Two, the highly-anticipated pro boxing series making its return to the District at the Entertainment & Sports Arena. The main and co-main event are scheduled eight-round super lightweight contests.
Outlaw, a Bowie State University graduate who trains out of DreamTeam Boxing in nearby Clinton, Md., will make his debut in the nation’s capital as the headliner on May 28. Meanwhile, Peterson, now trained by his brother, Lamont, a retired former World Champion, is making his first appearance in the District since 2016. This will be the second appearance for Crowder, trained by the legendary Mark Breland and Jose Guzman, in the Beltway Battles series and his first shot at championship gold. Tickets, priced at $51, $78, $132 and $200 plus taxes and applicable fees, are now on sale and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including Ticketmaster.com, and at the Entertainment & Sports Arena Box Office.
