Despite the cancellation of the boxing gala that was scheduled for April 17, Eye of the Tiger Management has never raised the white flag and maintained their efforts to find solutions allowing boxing fans to be presented with quality events on Quebec soil. However, the Public Health of the Capitale-Nationale gave the green light to the organization to hold a boxing gala following the proposed protocol.
This boxing evening, which will be presented behind closed doors, live on Punching Grace on May 15, will take place at the Hilton hotel in Quebec City. This event, presented by La Queen beer and Mise-O-Jeu, will feature the long-awaited rematch between Mathieu “G-Time” Germain (18-2-1, 8 K.- O.) and Steve “The Dragon »Claggett (29-6-2, 19 K.-O.).
For the second time in less than three years, the untirable Albertan warrior will return to the ring against the Montrealer with an extraordinary ring IQ. Fans remember the first clash between Germain and Claggett which ended with a tight draw verdict at the Casino de Montréal on January 26, 2019. Although these two pugilists are now fighting under the aegis of EOTTM, but eagerly want to get back into the ring together to leave no doubt to boxing fans as to the outcome of this decisive fight. Recovering from a loss to Yves Ulysse jr., “G-Time” will have to dig deep to find the way to victory against Claggett who defeated David Théroux by K.-O. on November 21.
“The first clash between Germain and Claggett caused a lot of fireworks in addition to being the fight of the year in Canada in 2019. Despite the pitfalls we experienced regarding the postponement of the April 17 gala, we did everything to keep our boxers active and we are proud to be able to offer boxing fans the most highly awaited rematch on Canadian soil. This will conclude a quality card featuring 6 exciting fights. Additionally, we will soon be announcing the next bouts of David Lemieux, Erik Bazinyan, Arslanbek Makhmudov and Simon Kean,” said EOTTM President Camille Estephan.
Five more fights will be available on Punching Grace as new EOTTM recruit Alexandre Gaumont makes his early debut. With a massive physique and incredible strength, the middleweight possesses an aggressive boxing style that many compare to that of a certain Gennadiy Golovkin. He has won over 80% of his victories by knockout in the amateur ranks and hopes to do the same in his first professional fight. As well, Bree Howling (2-0-0), the new undefeated professional tigress and former Canadian Muay Thai champion will also have her first fight under EOTTM’s wing. Sébastien Roy (9-0-0, 1 KO.) and Luis Santana (2-0-0, 1 KO.) will try to keep their record immaculate. To begin the evening, viewers will have the chance to see Quebeckers Kenny Cherry (2-4-0, 1 K.-O.) and Mathieu Duguay (0-1-0) face off in a well-balanced fight between two athletes thirsty for victory.
“Just like boxing fans, we can’t wait to see Bree Howling in action on May 15th in Quebec City. Bree has excellent technical skills, an exemplary work ethic and a strong punch. Sébastien Roy and Luis Santana are among other tigers who will not have an easy fight on May 15. One thing is certain, it will be quite a card! ” Said EOTTM’s general manager, Antonin Décarie.
Eye of the Tiger Management will reveal the details of each fight on this card individually via its Facebook page and Instagram account starting tomorrow. The entire event will be broadcast on Punching Grace next May 15th. For more information, please visit www.eottm.com.
