Dev Sahni from Queensberry Promotion’s recently sat down with Pro Boxing Fans for a detailed interview where he provided his insights on the current state of boxing.
Dev Sahni started the conversation by discussing his encounter with the boxing legend, Prince Naseem Hamed:
“He’s the original guy. The original Prince. It was great to have him up there. He was a lot of fun and a hype man. I’m excited for his son, Aadam, to make his Pro debut on this show.”
Sahni then talked about the upcoming Dubois vs Usyk fight.
“Why are there people out there that try and put caps on other people’s dreams? Dubois is a big puncher, he’s fighting a guy that’s 11 years older than him, he can change his life, he can rock the world.”
When asked what Daniel needs to do to win, Sahni responded:
“He’s got to not overthink it, he’s got to back himself, he’s got to be fearless, and he’s got to go after him as quickly as possible and just try and knock him out.”
“I think Daniel Dubois will fight this fight how everybody wanted Anthony Joshua to fight the fight against Usyk. And I think he’s got a great chance.”
Tyson Fury and Future Fights
Sahni also spoke about Tyson Fury’s recent match announcement against MMA champion Francis Ngannou, voicing his thoughts on the criticism it has attracted.
“It’s a great opportunity for Tyson which has fallen on his lap after he tried to fight Alexander Usyk and Anthony Joshua. Those fights haven’t materialized… this is once in a lifetime really.”
” We should all be in the Daniel Dubois business, backing him to go and become the unified World Heavyweight Champion. Then hey, it could be Undisputed against Tyson Fury, two Brits. That’d be fun, wouldn’t it?”
Final Thoughts
Sahni revealed his excitement for the Madison Joshua vs Dillian White bout and the Errol Spence vs Terence Crawford match.
“It kind of feels like a loser leaves town fight. I like Dillian White a lot. I think his interviews with IFL TVĀ are hilarious. It’s going to be an interesting fight, a lot of jeopardy… And I rate Anthony Joshua for getting hold of it.”
On the Spence vs Crawford fight, Sahni expressed his enthusiasm, “It’s been a long time coming and I think we’ve got them just about at the right time.”
