The world’s biggest sports streaming service DAZN has tapped Acast to help promote Anthony Joshua’s first fight, being broadcast exclusively on its platform on April 1st.
Eddie Hearn – CEO of Matchroom Sport and long-term AJ promoter – will guest on Peter Crouch’s popular That Peter Crouch Podcast, with a cameo from AJ himself too. Produced by Acast Creative, the branded episode will look ahead to the fight and will provide plenty of soundbites and insight. The campaign also includes a 30” spot voiced by AJ to promote the fight – his first not on a pay-per-view platform in seven years.
Alfie Sharman, VP of Marketing for DAZN, said “It’s a real moment for us, as AJ makes his debut on DAZN on April 1. We know that Crouchy and his audience are huge fans of boxing, so this is the perfect way to get them ready for what’s going to be a big weekend.”
Emma Foord-Williams, Key Account Director for Acast, said, “This is the first time DAZN will be using branded content in podcasting to attract viewers, and I’m confident there’s no better fit. Branded episodes allow listeners to become truly immersed in a campaign, and the combination of Eddie and Crouchy has the potential to be very entertaining and a great preview for the fight.”
The DAZN episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast is out on Thursday 30th, March. Listen wherever you get your podcasts.
